Fish Finders are used to find fish - normally from a boat. They not only tell you if any fish are around but show you how deep the water is and the topography of the seabed. Most charter boat deep sea fishing skippers would never leave port without one. Fish Finders have moved on a lot in the last 10 years being far more accurate than equipment from the nineties - some can even show you how big the fish are!

Why bother getting a fish finder?

Well, using a fish finder will make you angling a lot more enjoyable in many way because lets face we have such hectic lives and when we get a chance to go fishing we want to catch some fish! I used to go fishing without one and when I think of all the time a wasted trying to find the fish, find the exact wreck mark or piece of rough ground.

Now I just turn the fish finder on and job done - if there's no fish in the area I don't waste my time - why bother? I'm out to catch fish not cast my bait or lure into an empty bit of ocean - spent too much time and money on gear for that.
